Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - June 3, 2009
NORFOLK - Howard "Box Head" Davis Sr. of the 2500 block of Druid Circle died May 
30, 2009, in his residence. Born in Rocky Mount, N.C., he was a retired 
contractor and veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include three daughters, 
Sabrina Davis and Rose Walters, both of Richmond, and Geri Davis of Norfolk; one 
son, Howard Davis Jr. (Yvette) of Norfolk; three sisters, Madeline Outlaw of 
Norfolk, Lillie West of New York and Gonnie Cobb of Florida; one brother, Bill 
Davis of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of other 
relatives and friends. 

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Prayer and Deliverance Center, 3235 
Granby St., with the Rev. Reid presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary 
Cemetery. The remains will be ready for viewing Thursday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. The 
family will assemble at 1325 Branch Road at noon for the procession. Carlos A.
