The Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 25, 1937
Joseph Robert Davis, aged 47, of 408 Boissevain avenue, Apartment 6-A, died 
yesterday morning at 1:15 o'clock in a local hospital after a short illness.  
He is survived by seven children, Mrs. Thelma Pierce, Mrs. Virginia Williams, 
Miss Shirley Lee Davis, Seaton Davis, Joseph Robert Davis, Jr., Robert Davis 
and William Davis; his father Charles R. Davis; one brother, Abram Davis; two 
sisters, Mrs. W.W. Maples and Mrs. Anne Watts, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Paul B 
Warren Funeral Home, 362 West Princess Anne road, by the Rev. P. Rowland 
Wagner, pastor of the Central Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Riverside 
Memorial Park.
