Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 3, 1936

George Frederick Dawber, aged 88, died at his residence, 1016 East Ocean View 
Avenue, yesterday morning at 8:45 o'clock after an illness of three weeks.  He 
was a native of Liverpool, England and had been a resident of Norfolk for 50 
years. Mr. Dawber was a salesman connected with J.S. Bell, Jr. & Co. for 28 
years until the time of his retirement 14 years ago.  He was the son of Roger 
and Mrs. Agnes Selvedge Dawber and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anne Victoria 
Ayers Dawber; three daughters, Mrs. Howard Chapman, Mrs. Florence Morrissette 
and Mrs. A. Joel Jackson and two grandchildren, all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Co., 631 
Westover Avenue, Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.  Burial will be in the family 
plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
