Virginian Pilot June 15, 1977

NEW YORK - Miss Lendora E. Dawley, of 2340 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd., Apt. 12, a 
Norfolk native, died Tuesday in New York University Hospital.
She was retired from Lerner's home office after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Abyssinian Baptist Church and a former member in Norfolk of 
First Baptist Church, Bute Street, where she was a charter member of the Dorcas 
Sunday School Class and worked in the church kindergarten.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Eliza D. Sands of New York; three adopted 
sisters, Mrs. Iris N. Patterson of New York, Mrs. Myrtle N. Clark of Washington 
and Mrs. Thomasine N. Pruden of Norfolk.
The body is being sent to B.F. King Funeral Home, Norfolk, for a funeral 
Saturday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by the Rev. LaVert H. 
Taylor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk.
The family in Norfolk will be at the home of Mrs. Thomasine N. Pruden of 2716 
Hollister Ave.
