P. Day died at the home of her husband, Mr. Thaddeus Day, No. 109 Clay avenue, at 5 o’clock yesterday morning. On last Saturday, she ruptured a blood vessel in her head, since which time there has been no hope of her recovery. She was unconscious for a day or two but revived sufficiently before the end came to recognize the loved ones who gathered at her bedside. She was a most estimable lady, the mother of Mrs. Thomas Townsend, of this city, and had reached an advanced age, being in her 71st year. She had been married over fifty years and only a few months ago she and her husband celebrated their golden wedding. She was born in 1812 at Hunter, Green county, N.Y., had lived in Buffalo and also in Kansas, coming to Norfolk in 1883. The funeral will take place at 3:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon from St. Peter’s P. E. Church.
