Virginian Pilot August 19, 1911

Henry Deal, a well known citizen, died last evening at 6:25 o'clock at his 
residence, 339 Chapel Street. He was in the 70th year of his age. He was for 
many years a huckster in the city market, and up until six months ago was very 
active. He had been ill about six months.
He is survived by a widow, two brothers, Noah and Frank Deal, of Norfolk County 
and a grandson, Robert Deal, of Portsmouth. The funeral will take place Sunday 
from the undertaking apartments of H.C. Smith, 179 Bank Street.

The funeral of Henry Deal was held from the apartments of Funeral Director H.C. 
Smith, 179 Bank Street, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was largely 
attended. The service was conducted by Rev. Stanley C. Harrell, of Suffolk, Va. 
The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Following were the pallbearers: W.H. Dyer, J.H. Blanchard, T.A. Twiddy, J.A. 
Glover, J.F. Baker and T. McKown.
