MR. LUTHER DEAR.
The funeral of this well-known and highly esteemed gentleman, who passed 
peacefully away at his home on High street, Monday, was held from his late 
residence at 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. The services 
were conducted by Rev. R. M. Chandler, of Centenary M. E. Church. The remains were 
laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: Messrs. J. W. 
Fentress, J. W. Beasley, W. H. King, H. K. Bell, C. C. Gunter, William Hosier, 
Thomas Brown and Miles Wood.
