Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 22, 1950
Mrs. Lucy B. Whitsel DeBaun, 82, of Providence, Norfolk County, died at a 
Norfolk Hospital yesterday at 1:05 p.m. after an illness of three months.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, she made her home here for 60 years.  She was the 
daughter of Albert G. Whitsel and Mrs. Susan Whitsel and wife of the late James 
Young DeBaun.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bessie L. Wilson and Mrs. Kate Doxey, and 
two sons, James Y. DeBaun and Oscar S. DeBaun, all of Norfolk County; one 
sister, Mrs. S.J. Neely, of Columbus, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-
grandchildren.
She was a member of the Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where services 
will be conducted tomorrow.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
