Born in Norfolk November 30, 1929, he was a graduate of Maury High School and proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was the owner of Decker Auto Repair on Hampton Boulevard for 60 years. Mr. Decker is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sarah Williams Decker, of Norfolk; two daughters, Becky Cottrell, and her husband Ben, Anne Pridgen and her husband Chris. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Sarah and Gray Cottrell and Elizabeth Pridgen, brother Bobby Decker and his wife, Shelby, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Celiney and Elias Decker, brothers, George, Frank, Charlie and Al, and sisters, Louise Miller, Marguerite Nichols, and Lillian Cornett. He will be remembered as a hardworking, loyal and strong-willed man who would do anything for his family. He will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6400 Newport Avenue, Norfolk, on Monday, January 30 at 11 a.m. with Father Joseph H. Metzger, III, officiating. The family will receive visitors starting at 10 a.m. in the church . Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Norfolk Chapel is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cancer Care Foundation of Tidewater, St. Judes Children's Research Hospital and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
