George Pete Decker, 93, passed away on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 surrounded by 
his beloved family. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late 
Peter G. Decker, Sr. and Rose Marie Decker. He is a veteran of the United States 
Air Force and retired from NARF. He sold real estate and managed the Deltaville 
Dockside Inn.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Duane Mardre Decker, his 
brothers, Phillip G. Decker, Joseph M. Decker, Peter G. Decker, Jr. and sisters 
Maryanne Decker Zoby (Johnny), Catherine Decker John (John John) and Doris Decker 
Cory (Larry).

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Diane Rose Decker and Anna Maria 
Decker; granddaughters, Elizabeth Rose Hillard, Laura Margaret Annunziata and 
Maria Michelle Hillard; great-granddaughter, Rose Mardre Garbarino; sister-in-
laws, Ruby Decker (Joseph) & Bess Decker (Peter, Jr.); his lifelong best friend, 
Leo Thomas, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a member of Law and Disorderly, VFW, Democratic Club and The Knights of 
Columbus (Ocean View, Norfolk, VA). He is cherished by his fellow club members and 
many family friends, just as he cherished them.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11th at 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Norfolk with Fr. James Glass officiating. A 
private burial will be held in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk at a later 
date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peter Decker's Children 
Charity- 109 E Main St., Suite 200, Norfolk, VA 23510. Online condolences may be
