NORFOLK — Wilson Samuel Decker, 48, of 722 W. 26th St., scrap yard supervisor at 
the Naval Supply Center, was found floating face down in an arm of the Lafayette 
River under Colley Avenue bridge, Sunday at 10:40 a.m.
A lifelong Norfolk resident, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 
Knights of Columbus, Nocturnal Adoration Society, the Holy Name Society and 
Alhambra. He was a son of Samuel Mike and Marie Coury Decker.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Shiner Decker; two sons, Gerald Leo 
Decker and Cameron Anthony Decker; a daughter, Mrs. Rodney F. Rockwell; three 
brothers, Jimmy Peter Decker, Mitchell S. Decker and Sam Philip Decker; a sister, 
Mrs. Ralph Harrod; and two grandchildren. All are of Norfolk.
A rosary service will be said in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 8:30. 
A funeral service will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Tuesday at 9:30 
a.m., with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will be at the residence, 722 
W. 26th St.
