New Daily Pilot August 7, 1896

Mrs. Ann A. Delany, relict of the late Mr. W.D. Delany, one of Norfolk's 
former mayors, died yesterday morning about 7:45 o'clock at her home, No. 
149 Duke Street, after a painful illness, aged 84 years.  The funeral will 
be held this afternoon at 5 o'clock from the residence.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Ann A. Delany, relict of ex-Mayor Delany, was 
held yesterday afternoon from her late residence, No. 149 Duke Street.  Rev. 
Wm. H. Atwill, of the Cumberland Street M.E. Church, officiating.  The 
interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  The following gentlemen acted as 
pallbearers:  Dr. L. Lankford, Capt. Thos. M. Hodges, N. Bilisoly, Eugene K. 
Brooks, Crawford S. Rogers, Wilson B. Sorey, Charles A. Delany and John M. 
Hodges.
