Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, July 20, 1993 
Marcus Thomas Delk Sr., 83, of the 500 block of Massachusetts Ave., died July
18, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mr. Delk was born in Norfolk. He retired two years ago from Norfolk State
University as lead groundsman after 31 years of service. He was a member and
deacon emeritus of Macedonia United Church of Christ in Norfolk where he was
also past chairman of the board of deacons and of the board of trustees.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Delk; four daughters, Yvonne Delk of Chicago,
Arlethia Delk Staton and Margaret Delk Edney of Chesapeake and Myra Delk Wallace
of Norfolk; three sons, Edward Delk of Norfolk, Marcus Delk Jr. of Washington,
D.C., and William Delk Sr. of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, Frank Edwards Jr.
and Clifford Edwards of Norfolk; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and
cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Macedonia United Church of
Christ, Norfolk, by Elder A.D. Wright. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A
wake service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hale Funeral Home. The body
will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
