Mr. DeMaio was a native of Norfolk and was the widower of Mattie O. DeMaio. He served in the Army during World War II and Korea. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge in Norfolk. Survivors include one sister, Augustine Huber of Chesterfield, Mo.; one brother, Carmine J. DeMaio of Norfolk; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery by Father Julian B. Goodman. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Infant Home in Norfolk.
