NORFOLK - Miss Carmel DeMaio, 63, of 1512 Holland Ave., a lifelong resident of 
Norfolk, died in a Danville hospital Monday.
She was a daughter of John DeMaio and Mrs. Angelina Lazzari DeMaio. She was a 
member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Marie Vatala of California, Miss Theresa 
Romeo of Romehill, Md., Mrs. Rose Sansone of Norfolk, Mrs. Juanita Butt of Salem, 
Mrs. Augustine Huber of El Paso, Tex., and Miss Virginia DeMaio of Danville; and 
two brothers, Carmine J. DeMaio and John J. DeMaio of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Christ the King 
Catholic Church for a funeral service Friday at noon. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
The Office of the Dead will be recited in the funeral home Thursday at 7 p.m.
