Norfolk Ledger Dispatch March 22, 1935

August Demma, 62, husband of Domenica Demma, a native of Italy and for the past 
47 years a well known resident of Norfolk, died at 3:45 o'clock this morning at 
the residence, 641 West Thirty-fifth Street.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Domenica Demma, he is survived by nine daughters, Mrs. 
Phillip Amoroso and Mrs. Matthew Contino, of Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. J.M. 
Cacace, Mrs. Thomas Amato, Mrs. William Signaigo and the Misses Mary, Antonette, 
Lucille and Elena Demma, all of Norfolk; two sons, Joseph Demma, of Norfolk and 
Charles Demma, of Washington, D.C.; 8 grandchildren and several nephews and 
nieces.
Mr. Demma was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Italian Benevolent Society 
and the Thomas Jefferson Association. Funeral services will be held at Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in 
St. Mary's Cemetery.
