Mr. Dempsey was for a number of years engaged in the towing business. He resided at 1720 Princeton Avenue. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Besides his wife, Mrs. Margaret Burton Dempsey, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard Vellines and Miss Marion Dempsey, one son, M. A. Dempsey, Jr., a grandson, Richard Vellines, Jr., one brother, Lewis Dempsey of San Diego, Cal., three sisters, Miss Katherine I. Dempsey, Mrs. H. M. Stubbins and Mrs. R. J. Lindsay of Philadelphia, Pa. Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial Avenue, to St. Matthew's Catholic Church for services Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. MICHAEL ANGELO DEMPSEY - Funeral services for Mr. Dempsey, whose death occurred Saturday morning at a local hospital, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Berkley, with the Rev. P. P. Brennan, officiating. The Rev. A. J. Taylor, the Rev. F. V. Bambrick and the Rev. M. J. Hartigan were present in the sanctuary. At the conclusion of the mass, the Rev. A. J. Taylor paid tribute to the Christian life and character of Mr. Dempsey. During the service, the church choir sang, "Mary, Dearest Mother," "Lead Kindly Light," and "Nearer My God to Thee," with Mrs. H. W. Fulford as organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a pall of pink gladioli and ferns. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by the Rev. M. J. Hartigan. The pallbearers were George Freeman, Frank T. Bray, Henry A. McDonough, R. H. Prause, Robert Unser, J. F. Pearson and J. P. Piedmont.
