NORFOLK — Mrs. Margaret Burton Dempsey, 82, widow of Michael A. Dempsey and 
daughter of William J. and Mrs. Susan Harvey Burton, died Sunday in Richmond. She 
was a native of Philadelphia, Pa., a former resident of Norfolk, and a resident
of Richmond the last 12 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marion D. Giles and Mrs. (Rita) R. J. 
Vellines of Norfolk; a son, Lt. Col. Michael A. Dempsey, USA; and seven 
grandchildren.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
