Virginian-Pilot August 20, 1912
Mrs. Harriet V. Denby, widow of Andrew J. Denby, died at the residence, 926 
Raleigh avenue, at 2:25 o’clock yesterday afternoon, in the eighty-fifth year of 
her age. Although in failing health for some time, she was not taken seriously 
ill until Saturday. She was a native of Baltimore but had been a resident of 
this city for fifty-eight years and was well known and esteemed, being one of 
the oldest communicants of St. Paul’s church.
She is survived by six children, two daughters, Mrs. Roberta L. Martin, of this 
city, and Mrs. D. L. Turner, of New York; four sons, William D., Andrew J., 
George W., and Russell P. Denby, all of this city.
The funeral will take place at the residence at 10:30 o’clock tomorrow morning. 
Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
