Virginian-Pilot January 2, 1901
The venerable Miss Virginia Elizabeth Denby, a well-known and highly esteemed 
resident of this city, passed away at 12:30 a.m. yesterday after a protracted 
illness in the seventy-sixth year of her age. The deceased was the daughter of the 
late William and Mary Denby. She is survived by two brothers – Messrs. George W. 
and V. L. Denby. The funeral will be held from the residence, No. 124 Olney road 
at 1 o’clock p.m. today.
