Denby, who had been a resident of Norfolk his entire life, died at his home, 125 Raleigh avenue, at 12:37 o’clock yesterday morning. He was 85 years old and had been ill only a short time. Up to about fifteen years ago he was a truck farmer at Lambert’s Point and was held in high esteem in this city and section. The deceased was never married. He is survived by the following nephews and nieces: Russell R. Denby, A. J. Denby, W. D. Denby, all of Norfolk; Mrs. D. D. Turner, of New York, and Mrs. R. L. Martin, of Norfolk. The funeral will be held from his late residence at 11 o’clock this morning, and will be conducted by Rev. Geo E. Booker, D.D., of Epworth church, of which the deceased was a member, and Rev. James M. Owens, of St. Paul’s Episcopal church. The interment will be private.
