Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday March 21, 1915

Mrs. Jannie D. Denning, 27 years of age, wife of ex-justice of the peace, 
J.M. Denning, died last evening at 10:45 o'clock after an illness since last 
December, at her home 111 Westmoreland street. She was a daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. W.J. Thomas, of Portsmouth where she was born.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by the following 
brothers and sisters:
Misses Pearl and Ruby Thomas and Mrs. W. Stone, of this place, Mrs. R.L. 
Rosenburg, of St. Louis, Mo., and John R. and Chester Thomas and two 
children Jessie and Mary ages 10 and 7 respectively of this place. The 
funeral arrangements will be announced later.

The funeral of Mrs. J.M. Denning will be conducted at her residence, 111 
Westmoreland street, this afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. A.W. Shaw, pastor 
of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian church, of which she was a member. Burial 
will be in Magnolia cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. J.M. Denning was conducted at the family residence, 111 
Westmoreland street, yesterday afternoon by Rev. A.W. Shaw, pastor of 
Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian church and interment was in Magnolia 
cemetery. The attendance of friends was large and the floral tributes 
beautiful. The pallbearers were P.H. Lawler, H.M. Bew, F. Rogers, E.M. 
Thomas, G.R. Fowler and C.E. Miller.
