Virginian Pilot December 8, 1906

Capt. Samuel S. Dennis, for many years a resident of Norfolk, died at his 
residence, No. 102 Camp Avenue, Atlantic City Ward, after a lingering illness, at 
7:15 o'clock last night, in the 68th year of his age. He was a man of sterling 
integrity of character and was universally esteemed in the community. The funeral 
will be solemnized from LeKies Memorial Methodist Church, of which he was a 
consistent member, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
