A native of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Katherine Denofa and a son of the late Nicholas and Mrs. May Ruggieri Denofa. He was a leadingman electrician at Norfolk Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Corp. An Army veteran of World War II, he served overseas 2 1/2 years and was decorated for action in the Tunisian, Naples-Foggia, and Rome-Arno campaigns. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Other survivors are six sisters, Mrs. Pasquale Arcese and Mrs. Joseph Arcese of Portsmouth and Mrs. Joseph A. Vita, Mrs. Pearl A. Panella, Mrs. Carmela Carleo and Mrs. Amelia Madison of Norfolk; and a brother, Mike R. Denofa of Norfolk; a stepson, Lawrence W. Inge of Los Angeles; and three step-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Twiford Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph J. Quinlan of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors. The Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 in the funeral home.
