Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch May 3, 1913
Carlos Derrego was the name of the white man whose body was found floating in the 
Elizabeth river, near the property of the Norfolk Warehouse Corporation, yesterday 
afternoon. He was a seaman on the barge “Hercules,” belonging to the Southern 
Transportation Company, of Norfolk, and fell overboard while attempting to catch a 
line from another barge on April 23. He was 24 years old and a native of Chile.
The body will be buried this afternoon by the city.
