We are sad to announce that on August 3, 2022, at the age of 87, Barbara Puckett 
Derrickson of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away. Family and friends are 
welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the 
family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband, James William 
Derrickson, Jr. (Jim); her children, Elizabeth Derrickson Stephens, James 
William Derrickson III (Jim) of Raleigh and Stephen Derrickson (Steve) of St. 
Petersburg, Florida; her children-in-law, Mary Lou Derrickson of St. Petersburg, 
Florida and Sam Stephens of Virginia Beach, Virginia.; her granddaughters, Amber 
Noel Derrickson of St. Petersburg, Florida and Margaret Derrickson Chou (Maggie) 
of Fairfax; her great-grandchildren, Naomi, Phoebe and Joanna; her granddaughter 
Molly Derrickson Harwell of Lewisville; her great-grandchildren, Nash and Hayes; 
her grandchildren, Taylor Derrickson of St. Petersburg, Mary-Claire Derrickson 
of Durham and James William Derrickson IV (Will) of Winston-Salem; her great-
grandchildren, Arwen and Dempsey; her grandson Samuel Stephens, Jr. (Sammy) of 
Virginia Beach; and her parents, Glenn Puckett and Elsie Puckett of Anderson, 
Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be given in Barbara’s memory 
to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.
