DesBoine , from the pain and suffering of this life, to the joy and happiness of life everlasting. He resided in the 700 block of A Avenue. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was the son of the late George and Lucy S. DesBoine . A resident of Virginia for more than 50 years, he retired from Rices & Nachman. ``Slim,'' as he was affectionately called, was the epitome of a gentleman; meticulous in word, deed and action; always stylish, even when working. He was articulate and dependable. He dearly loved his family and friends and never hesitated to be of assistance when needed. During his illness, he remained quiet because he wanted no sympathy, but wished to be remembered for his love, care and concern for others. We will miss his gentle spirit, wisdom and advice, but most of all we will truly miss him, because he has left a void that cannot be filled. However, we are consoled by the words, ``to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.'' And we realize that regardless of circumstances, God is too wise to make a mistake. May he now be resting in the House of the Lord. He leaves to remember with love, twin nephews, Donn E. DesBoine (Eunice) of Alameda, Calif., and Dean E. DesBoine (Elsie) of Virginia Beach; nephew, Lynn P. DesBoine (Joann) of Hawaii; nieces, Jenette DesBoine Marshall (James), Lisa DesBoine Murray (Darryl); and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a niece, Edna DesBoine . A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Graves Funeral Home by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Life's race well run; Life's work well done; Life's victory won; and now cometh rest.'' The Family.
