Virginian-Pilot  December 29, 1924
Giovanni D'Este, aged 52, died Saturday afternoon at 3:55 o'clock at a local 
hospital. He was a native of Italy, but had been a resident of Norfolk for 18 
years, residing at 1032 East Olney road. Besides his wife, Mrs. Rosa D’Este, he is 
survived by two sons, Flemming and Mario D’Este. Funeral service will be held at 
St. Mary’s Catholic Church Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery.
