MRS. HARRIET DEVINE

VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Harriet Shepard Devine, 89, of 4628 Hermitage Road, 
Thoroughgood, widow of Maurice Devine, died Tuesday at 5 p.m. in a hospital.

Born in Granby, Province of Quebec, Canada, she lived in the Norfolk area 36 
years.  She was a daughter of Stephen and Mrs. Isabelle Chabot Shepard.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Thomas A. Burroughs of Virginia Beach; a son, 
William J. Devine of North Hollywood, Calif.; a brother of Franklin, N.H.; and two 
grandchildren.

The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 2002 Laskin Road, 
Virginia Beach, to St. Nicholas Catholic Church for a funeral service Thursday at 
10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk.  The family has requested 
that flowers be omitted.
