Dewberry, of Doziers Corner, Norfolk County, was the victim of a tragic accident yesterday morning about 10:30 o'clock. While his mother and father were in a field near the house the baby, which had been left in a crib, succeeded in getting his head between the lid of the crib and the edge of the little railing upon which the lid rests. The child was still alive when his parents found him, but died while they were taking him to a physician. According to Norfolk County Coroner L.C. Ferebee, death resulted from strangulation and a broken neck. The child's neck is believed to have been broken in his struggles to free himself. The child had been left alone only a few minutes. Mrs. Dewberry had gone to the field to carry some seed potatoes to her husband, and returned to find the infant with his head wedged under the crib lid. The child is survived, besides his parents, by a brother, Arthur Thomas Dewberry, Jr.; one sister, Martha Anne Dewberry and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Dewberry. The body was removed to the funeral home of Graham & Sykes, Jackson and Jefferson Streets, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted this afternoon t 4 o'clock. Burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
