Norfolk Virginian July 6, 1894
Mrs. William Dey, of No. 205 Park avenue, departed this life Wednesday, July 4th, 
at 2 p.m. Her husband is the cousin of the late Tiberius Dey, who resided on this 
avenue. Mrs. Dey was a Philadelphia lady and had no relatives in this community, 
yet her estimable character made for her many friends in Norfolk and vicinity. She 
leaves a husband and three little children, who miss and mourn her very much. The 
funeral was preached from residence yesterday at 4 p.m., Dr. J. J. Hall 
officiating. The following are the names of the pallbearers, all from the country: 
Messrs. Frank Coleman, W. W. Simpson, J. R. Simpson, B. E. Simpson, Thomas Frost 
and Wm. Lassiter. Interment was in Elmwood. THE VIRGINIAN joins many friends in 
according sympathy in this great affliction.
