Impressive funeral rites were held Monday afternoon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church 
for Thomas Dickens, 50, of 110 Pembroke Avenue, who died at his home Friday 
evening from the effects of blood poisoning.

Mr. Dickens was the victim of a splinter stuck in his  hand several months ago.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Laura Dickens of Scotland Neck, NC;  a 
brother, Solomon Dickens of Philadelphia;  five sisters, Mrs. Pattie Arnold of 
Durham NC, Mesdames Melissa Smith, Melvina Laggett, and Maggie Knight of 
Scotland Neck;  also Mrs. Marie Whitmore of Floriad Avenue.

Funeral services and interment at the Mt Olive Cemetery were under the direction 
of the Grogan Funeral Home.
