A native of Adams County, Pa., he was the husband of Mrs. Lucille Dodson Diehl. He studied at Gettysburg Preparatory School and Pennsylvania College there. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1911 from University of Maryland Medical School and interned at Midtown Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital, New York. He was in the Medical Corps in World War I. After war service, he opened practice in Norfolk and retired several years ago. He was a member of Nu-Sigma-Nu medical fraternity, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, and a member of North County Medical Society and State Medical Society. He was on the staffs of Norfolk General, De Paul, and Leigh Memorial hospitals and Florence Crittenton Home, Norfolk. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. Conroy Wilson of Boyce; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Stuart Fitzgerald of Richmond; and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. in Christian Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Baker. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.
