RICHMOND — Lucile Dodson Diehl, 87, of 1827 Hanover Ave., a native of Norfolk who 
came to this area in May, died Friday in a hospital. She was the widow of Dr. 
James Erwin Diehl.
She was a former member of Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and was a member 
of Colonial Dames. She was a graduate of Leache-Wood Seminary.
Survivors include a daughter, Harriet Brown Fitzgerald of Richmond; three 
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Edmund 
Berkeley. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, has charge of arrangements.
