Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 28, 1918

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Diggs died yesterday afternoon in the 89th year of her age, 
at the residence, 1102 Colonial Avenue. Mrs. Diggs was a native of Norfolk. Her 
health had been failing for some time. She was well known and was much beloved and 
was a consistent member of Cumberland Street M.E. Church.
Mrs. Diggs is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J.S. Bell, Jr.; two sons, William C. 
Diggs and Harry Oliver Diggs; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the residence Tuesday at noon, Rev. J.L. Bray 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
