Norfolk Virginian Tuesday March 27, 1894
 DIGGS - In this city, at his residence, No. 223 Chapel street, Sunday, March 
25, at 11:40 o'clock a.m., JOHN B DIGGS, aged 65 years.
The funeral will take place from above residence THIS (Tuesday) AFTERNOON at 4 
o'clock.  Friends of the family invited to attend.

The funeral of Mr. John B. Diggs took place yesterday afternoon from his late 
residence, No. 223 Chapel street, and was conducted by Rev. J.B. Merritt.  The 
interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Obed Whitehurst, James 
E. Hanberry, L.K. Simmons, Wm. Lane, Edward Church, James O'Rourke, Frank 
O'Connor, R.D. Nichols and John S. Webber. 
The deceased leaves a widow and five children Messrs. Wm. C. Diggs, H.D. Oliver, 
J.B. Diggs, Charles T. Diggs and Mrs. Joseph Bell.
