NORFOLK - Caleb Diggs, 86, of the 800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., passed 
away peacefully June 17, 2009, at Chesapeake Healthcare Center.

He was born in Morven, N.C. He was a member of Basilica of St. Mary of the 
Immaculate Conception, Norfolk.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Cora D. Ross, of Maryland, Kaye 
Diggs White, of Virginia Beach, Edna Diggs, of Ohio, and Benita Diggs, of Virginia 
Beach; a stepdaughter, Norma Melvin, of Portsmouth; and a host of grandchildren, 
great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The family would also like to thank all of the Chesapeake Healthcare Unit 4 staff 
involved in his care.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in the Basilica of St. Mary of the 
Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. Family 
and friends will assemble at 989 Aspen Drive, Virginia Beach, one hour prior to 
the service for the procession to the church. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 
p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel. Condolences may be
