The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday December 7, 1951
Mrs. Ellen Credle Diggs, 75, of 1512 Georgia Avenue, died yesterday at 6:20 a.m.
in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of six months.

A native of Belhaven, NC, she had resided in this section for 30 years.  She was
the widow of Milton Diggs.

She was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church and the Three Score and Ten
Club of Norfolk.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Archie G. Mercer, Mrs. M. L. Swindell, Mrs.
R. J. Robinson and Mrs C. Holdzskom;  one son, Thomas L. Sawyer; 14
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of Norfolk.

The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where funeral
services will be conducted today at 4 p.m.  Burial will be in Riverside Memorial
Park.
