Diggs died suddenly at the home of his brother-in-law, J.S. Bell, Jr., 1102 Colonial Avenue, at an early hour yesterday morning. His death was a great shock and surprise to his relatives, as he retired Sunday night in apparent good health. He was a native of Norfolk where he had resided all his life. He was a young man of companionable and generous traits and had a large circle of friends who will learn with sorrow of his passing. He was 41 years of age and was the son of Mrs. Sarah E. and the late John B. Diggs. Besides his mother he is survived by a sister, Mrs. J.S. Bell, Jr. and two brothers, William C. Diggs and Harry Diggs Oliver, all of Norfolk. The funeral will be held at the residence Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and will be conducted by Rev. Dr. J.A. Thomas, of Cumberland Street M.E. Church.
