H. Dixon, 80, of Norfolk’s City Market Norfolk-Robert Hendricks Dixon, Sr., 80. Of 1712 Hampton Blvd., who operated a bonded commission business, R. H. Dixon & Co., in the Old City Market, died Thursday in a hospital. Dixon specialized in poultry, eggs, hogs, turkeys, geese, ducks and other farm products. He began business in 1907 and retired in 1955. A native of Wayne County, N.C., he lived here most of his life. He was the husband of the late Margaret Ridgwell Dixon and a son of John G. and Mrs. Julia U. Dixon. He was a member of Ghent Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Paul C. Fox, and a son, Robert H. Dixon Jr., both of Norfolk; two sisters, Miss Mary Lucille Dixon of Norfolk and Mrs. Michael R. Sauders of Ocean Drive Beach, S.C.; three brothers, M. Kilgo Dixon and John G. Dixon of Norfolk and W. Irving Dixon of Richmond; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments by the Rev. Beverly Felty. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will be at 1408 Mallory Court.
