Norfolk - Mrs. Hattie M. Dixon of 630 W. 34th St., the wife of Myles A. Dixon 
and a native of Gates County, NC, died Oct. 6 in a hospital.

She was a member of Abyssinia Baptist Church.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mable Swinton of Portsmouth and Mrs. 
Margie E. Morgan of New York; two sons, William T. Smith and Lonnie C. Smith of 
Portsmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hawk of Waterbury CT, and Miss Mattie Savage 
of Sunbury, NC; two brothers, Willie Savage and Herbert Savage of Gates County; 
13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held Oct. 10 in Abyssinia Baptist Church on Colley Avenue by the 
Rev. Frank Gun. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Service in 
charge.
