A ferry steamer coming across narrowly missed striking the corpse. Dobie was a sailmaker and had been employed by the J. P. Hurst company. The body was towed to Roper's slip and, when the clothing was examined, a bottle of whisky was found. The body was removed to the morgue. It is probable that the fellow workmen of Dobie will have it decently buried. Dobie is supposed to have fallen overboard while under the influence of liquor. He boarded at Brown’s restaurant on Campbell's wharf and had a room in lower Church street.
