Dodson, son of Mrs. Julia E. and the late R. A. Dodson, arrived here last evening, accompanied by E. Griffith Dodson, brother of the deceased, and by Funeral Director H. D. Oliver. Mr. Dodson was drowned in Pamlico Sound recently, due to the sinking of the launch Julia from an explosion of gasoline and the body was found in the sound last Tuesday. The funeral occurred at 3 p.m. today at the home of his uncle, W. P. Dodson, #81 Westover avenue, and was largely attended. Rev. Dr. S. T. Senter, of Epworth Methodist Church, and Rev. Dr. G. C. Kelly, of Ghent Methodist Church, officiating. During the service Karl A. Fisher sang, "Face to Face.” There was a most beautiful display of floral offerings, the casket being covered with a lovely pall of lavender and white sweet peas and smilax. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery. Pallbearers: Dr. Louis Guy, Hunter Bell, Melville Robertson, Joseph Bidgood, Marion Mahone, Crenshaw Reed, Aldis Wright, W. T. Dey.
