Last rites were held Sunday, Sept. 22 at Graves Funeral Chapel for Emmett 
Dodson, Sr., 79, who died Sept 19 in a Norfolk hospital.  The Rev. H. T. 
Myers, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist, officiated.  A native of Petersburg, VA, 
Mr. Dodson had lived in Norfolk over 65 years.  He was the son of Mr. and 
Mrs. Walter Dodson.

Among his survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Dodson Bell and Miss Helen 
Dodson;  a son, Emmett Dodson Jr., all of Philadelphia;  five brothers, 
John, Warner,Wade, and Lem Dodson of Norfolk, and Willie Dodson of 
Petersburg;    and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Woods of Norfolk.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
