Dogan Sr., died in a Washington DC hospital Tuesday night after a long illness. A native of Norfolk, she resided here until she left to make her home in Washington about nine years ago. She was the daughter of Solomon and Mrs. Priscilla Cotton. A graduate of Norfolk Mission College, she served as assistant librarian of Blyden Branch Library here for many years. She was a member of St. John AME Church and for a number of years taught a Bible School class. Surviving are two sons, Charles C. Dogan Jr., of New York, and Wendell P. Dogan, of Norfolk; two daughters, Dr. Alma Dogan Johnson and Mrs. Velma Dogan Hood, of Washington; two granddaughters, Phyllis Dogan, of Norfolk, and Gwendolyn Hood, of Washington. Funeral services will be held at St. John Church on East Bute Street Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. J. R. Johnson Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
