Virginian Pilot November 30, 1957

Mrs. Evelyn Doherty, 82, widow of William E. Doherty and daughter of the late 
Anthony S. and Mrs. Laura Lewis Butt, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died 
yesterday at 8:30 p.m. at the Mary F. Ballentine Home.
She is survived by one nephew, J. Anthony Butt, off Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for funeral services Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be conducted at the funeral apartments 
Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

NORFOLK — Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Doherty, widow of William E. Doherty, 
who died Friday at the Mary F. Ballentine Home, were conducted at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church yesterday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas J. Walsh, pastor. Burial 
was in St Mary's Cemetery. The pallbearers were Constant J Riley, John P Ray, 
Ralph P. Mani, Frank J. Hatton, Lee F. Lawler and John Cahill.
