Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 10, 1949

William Emmett Doherty, 45, son of Mrs. Evelyn Doherty and the late William E. 
Doherty, and a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at a local hospital yesterday 
at 7:05 p.m.
He was for several years employed by the City of Norfolk. He is survived only by 
his mother.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

William Emmett Doherty - Funeral services for Mr. Doherty, who died Sunday, were 
conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments by the Rev. Edward W. Johnston, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
