NORFOLK - Nelson Dollar Sr., 78, of the 1500 block of St. Julian Ave., was 
called to eternal rest Nov. 20, 2005, at Bon Secours-DePaul Hospital. He was 
born May 16, 1927, to the late Bertha and Walter Dollar of Newnan, Ga. Nelson 
attended schools in the Georgia Public School System. He worked and retired from 
the Pennsylvania Trucking Co. as a long distance truck driver. He was 
predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Novella E. Dollar and son, Nelson 
Dollar Jr. 

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Joyce Dollar Warren (Vernon) of 
Norfolk; a son, Ronald N. Thomas (Bertha) of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, 
Nicole Stewart, LaToya Nichols, Nelson Dollar Smith, Robin Fletcher, Gail Hill 
and Robert Hill; six great-grandchildren, Aniyah and Avante' Nichols, Tony Hill, 
Alphonso, Amanda and Ronald Fletcher; a brother, Arthur Dollar of Atlanta; a 
loving nephew, Harry Dollar (Francis) of Atlanta; a "sister" in God and adopted 
mother to Joyce, Pearline Hines; a special son-in-law, James Nichols Jr.; and a 
host of other relatives and friends, who he all loved dearly. 

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Greater St. Andrews AME Church, 3000 
MacDonald Road, by the Rev. Timothy Smith. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery 
in Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 1510 St. Julian Ave. one hour 
prior to the service for the procession to the church. Graves Funeral Home is 
handling the arrangements.
