Our beloved "Memaw" lived an abundantly full life on this earth for 100 years. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Timothy Donahue, and his wife, Cleo, of Cobbs Creek, Va., Richard Donahue, and his wife, Marie, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Miriam Donahue Cox, and husband, Ed, of Cape Coral, Fla. Memaw was predeceased by her beloved husband, Timothy Michael Donahue, or "Pappy", in 1973. Their marriage spanned 50 years and produced four children, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Mary Louise Donahue Trotman, formerly of Chesapeake, and is survived by son-in-law, Edward L. Trotman, Sr., and his wife, Anita, of Chesapeake. Locally, she is survived by four grandchildren, Les Trotman, and his wife, Paula, Beth Trotman, Timothy Trotman, currently residing in Fredericksburg, Va., and George W. Trotman, and his wife, Jen. Throughout Virginia, North Carolina and Florida, she is survived by grandchildren, Jeanne Scott, and her husband, Tim, Rick Friedlin, and his wife, Denise, Kay Thompson, and her husband, Tom, Jim Donahue, and his wife, Kathy, Steven Donahue, and his wife, Sharon, Andy Donahue, and his wife, Darcy, Mike Donahue and his wife Pam, and Pat Donahue. Beloved to her large family and many friends, Memaw was an avid gardener, seamstress, quilter and artist. She attended her newborn grandchildren and shared her love for music, books and life with everyone. Memaw's specialties included homemade rolls, milkshakes and fried chicken served in her warm kitchen overlooking a shady yard full of flowers, trees and vegetables. Her enduring gifts of faith, hope, charity and love live today in the hearts and souls of all of us who knew and loved this special woman. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Chesapeake, conducted by Rev. Dave Libengood. The family will receive visitors at 106 Hibben Road, Chesapeake, following the service.
