Donovan died at 8 o'clock last night at the residence, 907 Virginia Street, in the 72nd year of his age. He was a native of Ireland, but had resided in Norfolk during the past 40 years and was well known and esteemed. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Donovan is survived by his widow, one son, William F. Donovan of Norfolk and two daughters, Mrs. J.P. Gillerlain of Portsmouth and Mrs. G.T. Crump of Norfolk and nine grandchildren. The funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** The funeral of Thomas H. Donovan was held from St. Mary’s Catholic church yesterday morning at 10 o’clock, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. John J. Doherty. The casket was covered with a pall of asters, white roses and smilax. Mrs. James Hughes sang “Lead Kindly Light.” Interment was made in St. Mary’s cemetery. The pallbearers were James Barkley, John R. Coleman, Timothy Hickey, Patrick Kavanaugh, John A. Baecher, Benjamin Hatton, John Mariner, Patrick Moylan.
